Zidane
Oh, my!!  I was laughing so hard when I saw this clip 2 nights ago… I can’t help but think what would be on Zidane’s mind if he sees this, hehe.

This is the part I don’t get… Italians are so talented in soccer, why they would resort to play-acting is totally beyond me. What a disgrace to the game. I hope they won’t qualify for Euro 2008!!

Anyhoo, another head butt, another another red card, Inter won another game… and nobody cares.
Serie A is in big trouble.

Hong Kong

Blood
Ha, haven’t blogged since Christmas… I know I have been busy/lazy.  A friend was showing me one of his students’ blog… these young girls are full of energy indeed (blogging everyday)!
Anyhoo, I was reading Yahoo! News… Hong Kong made the headlines again. Not because of the upcoming (meaningless) election of Chief Executive, but on the influx of mainland Chinese pregnant women.
The new policy essentially will bar women at least seven months pregnant from entering Hong Kong unless they are already booked in at a hospital.
I see two problems with this:
1) How did they come up with this magic number 7?  How do you expect a frontline Customs officer (without any medical training) to determine if a woman is 7 months pregnant and not 7-month plus one day pregnant??
2) Why are we even limiting mainland Chinese people to come to Hong Kong?  WTF, the reunification happened almost 10 years ago!  I thought Hong Kong has already been assimilated to be just another South China costal city…

I do hope no blood (literally) will be spilled when they expel the first pregnant woman, haha.

In any case, I see only business opportunities here. Private hospitals have always complained about HK government meddling with the health care system. Here is a perfect chance to make some big bucks. Sell vacation packages with prenatal classes, 5-star hotel/hospital stay and full-time maid service.
There are so many wealthy Mainland Chinese. They don’t deserve the third world health care in mainland China!!

I think the theory of “Field of Dreams” will apply here: if you build it, they will come.

P.S. Please note AFP used a cacusian pregnant woman photo in this article!!  I guess they are even worse than the left-biased AP and Reuters.
