Merry Christmas

Wii
I was going to write a few things (including a recent release “Eragon”, truly a WTF movie… I hope they have already filmed the sequel as nobody in their right minds will finance the production)… but after one boxing match on Nintendo Wii, I have no energy left to type anything long…

I hope you will have a wonderful Christmas with the ones most important to you and that you have the opportunity to renew your energy and commitment at the new challenges in 2007. Whatever your holiday traditions include, I hope this time of year brings good health, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones.

Enjoy a safe and joyous holiday and a very happy New Year!

Wal-Mart

Turkey
Sometimes, I just don’t get those people protesting against Wal-Mart… low price, good selection, clean stores… and of course, their amazing refund policy.

I have heard so many stories i.e. a vacuum used for 6 months was given a full refund WITHOUT a receipt(!)… of course, there is no way to verify these stories…

Here is another one I read in BusinessWeek yesterday, from a Thanksgiving Day post on "Behind the Counter," a Wal-Mart employee’s personal blog:

——————————————————————————–

I survived a third Thanksgiving at Wal-Mart. Of all the things to return, some lady returned a thawed-out turkey today.

Yes. A thawed-out turkey.

Her story goes like this. She was getting ready to start cooking when the family called. They were having car trouble and weren’t going to make it into town. So she shouldn’t bother cooking the bird.

So what did she do? She took the bird out of the sink, PUT IT BACK IN THE PLASTIC and put it in a Wal-Mart bag, dug the receipt out of the trash (yes, the receipt was wet from where she threw it away) and return the turkey, two boxes of stuffing, some cranberries, the stuff to make pumpkin pies, green beans and a package of rolls.

She rolled in to Customer Service with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner and rolled right out with nineteen dollars and change.

I was so busy today that all I could do was tie that turkey up in the Wal-Mart bag, tape a defective slip onto it, slide it over to the side and say to the next person "Can I help you?"

A freaking THAWED-OUT TURKEY? And the next woman in line goes – "did she really return a thawed-up turkey?" Yeah, she did. Next.

Haha, a defective turkey!

Retail, it’s a tough business…

Nation

Adrienne Clarkson
Really WTF this time… Quebec is now a "nation" (within a united Canada)!!

The joke is really on the separatists… all that energy and time spent on referendum after referendum to recognize Quebec as a nation… and now they get it, without a fight, from the federalist Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Motion passed 266-16 in the House of Commons.

Canadian (or Quebecois) politics is just plain silly sometimes… on top of that, there is also a new debate on Quebecers vs Quebecois.
People have too much free time in their hands. Get a life (go play WoW or something).

So, we have First Nations, now there is Quebec Nation, I suggested to my friend we should have a Hong Kong Nation in Canada as well.

But I must admit I didn’t think as extensive as him… this is his response:
"Yeah with Scarborough as the capital. Richmond Hill, ah gum… you can elect Adrienne Clarkson as the President of the Nation!
Cantonese sign at Pearson airport and Dorval
I am so proud of Canada! I want to immigrate north so much
Richard Lee named the Consul of HK nation
Cristy Chung 鍾麗緹 name Consul of Hong Kong nation in Quebec, promoting Quebecois-Hong Kong understanding
Adrienne Clarkson for Queen of Hong Kong nation yeah!!!"

Oh, by the way, according to my friend, WTF stands for World Taekwondo Federation.
